Research

With various habitats, Virginia Tech’s Southern Piedmont Agricultural Research and Extension Center offers ample opportunities for developing and conducting integrated research projects.

Research projects at the Southern Piedmont Entomology Laboratory consider organismal ecology in evaluating and maximizing the effectiveness of integrated pest management of insect pests and vector-borne plant diseases in Virginia crops. We are currently using small grains, tobacco, and cotton as our model systems.
